The Present: the Bridge Between the Past and the Future

Passage to the Past

Some of us might have been living with the shadow overhead; the shadow of our past. How happy we were and how bright our stars were shining. This makes it heavy for us to go through the present, yet, finding the road to the future. Sometimes and often we recall the memories of our past, so that we can stare beyond the horizon. And of course, so that we can learn something out of it. There are a lot that we can learn from our past but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we always look back. Looking back is good and obviously enriching because then we would understand how rich we are of experiences.

The past is like our data bank that keeps a lot of secrets of our lives and clues and knowledge resources for us. Thus, building the passage to the past for each and everyone of us is an essential part to grow. We can learn a lot from the past and tracing back our path to dig a lot of information from the past is something that will always remind us of our “another life.”

When I was among this group of people who talked about lifelong learning, they teased out the notions of lifewide and lifedeep that were not in existence. However, the thoughts seem to be like wishful thinking that such notions simply don’t exist, but if we open our heart, mind and soul to understand the very fundamental concept of lifewide and lifedeep learning, we would then understand that every man can learn from everything around them regardless of the dimensional concerns of length, width and depth [say: height]. As a matter of fact, if learning processes always carry these concerns, learning would become multidimensional, or in a more popular term it is called interdisciplinary studies.

The flourishing notion of long-, deep- and wide-learning will obviously enrich us and definitely elevate our self capacity to understand more about a lot of things [life]. When one can embrace this notional theory and practice, one can benefit a lot from every single thing one experiences. Not only that, one will understand better about life and about one’s self and that will strengthen one’s soul and emotion–to shape it and sharpen it. Because only with shaped and sharpened soul and emotion, one dares to leave the past and depart for the present to destine to the future, otherwise one would always feel that the path is rough and hard and one would simply quit. I remember a wise woman says “you can’t just quit because it’s hard!” Because life is actually full of hardship, so face it. Life must go on and we have to move on carrying the values that we have learned from our past, which we’ve got by building the passage to the past.

Keep your passage open, build systematic roads to get your particular memories. So that you can always learn, you can always look back to enrich your soul and to take back your experiences to help you and to guide you walk through the present. Now, you have the passage of the past, it means that your are rich because you have your imaginary school from which you can learn from your own mistakes and from your own achievements for a better present.

Fortune of the Future

Have you ever given yourself a second [another] chance?

Everybody makes mistakes, so don’t we ever feel the necessity to highlight or shout out, “this is all your [my] mistake!” I think, all we can do is to understand the circumstances, after all mistakes are just relative conditions–bias toward whose standard or criteria? That way, we will keep ourselves from blaming people because it is all learning processes.

Have you ever felt the beauty and the magic of positivity?

Release your energy and unleash yourself and let positivity enter your mind, your heart and soul, and feel it, feel how free you are and happy as you can be surrounded by the positive energy that you shall desire. Negativity will fill yourself with unstable energy, which will eventually put you in a condition where you can’t really transcend–upon which your innerselves are not moved, not evolved. Positivity will pass around your positive energy, thinking, emotion and attitude; that will translate into happiness, a happy feeling that can be felt by people around you so easily.

So, always be positive and give yourself a second chance to move on, to continue your journey to the future.

Remember, the passage to the past will always be there, for your to travel back and to excerpt the lessons learned, the memories remained and the experiences enriched. By embracing all of those positive elements of the past, you can use them all to create your own fortune of the future. Don’t forget that it is ourselves that can help ourselves, not anybody else; so get a long very well with yourself. Know what you want and what you need, it is fundamental.

The present bridges your passage to the past and the fortune of the future. Enjoy your every single moment of the present, because it is simply the greatest gift for you can;t turn back the nick of time; all you can do is to look back and take the lessons and transform them into concrete actions. It is you yourself that creates your life, your future and it is, again, yourself that can create the fortune for your own future; for life is in your hand, apart from the magical power out there that can easily turn your life upside down, but always remember hold on to yourself and your faith.

Be thankful for everything you have, everything you have achieved for your present is a gift and future life is a conundrum of thoughts and the past is the reflection of the present itself. Exhale and take a deep breath, believe in yourself, your heart and your mind. Your soul and your faith will follow through. Do everything you can do best and do it best, love it for it will be your greatest friend and greatest avenue when the whole world walked through and everyone else leaves you behind.

The fortune of the future is the product of your mind and passion combined, live it, nurture it until it flourishes and harvest it when you really need it, otherwise keep it until the right time comes. Everyone has magical hands, the magical hands extended by the Powerful, with which we can take control of our lives, navigate our lives and sail over the oceans of hardship and the waves of outrageous life. Hang in there, for you must believe that you will destine and harbor to the port of self-discovery.

We are the captain of our ship. Believe in our deep intuition, but yet, listen to the voices of inner and outer others. We are what we are much thought of and restored in our mind. We are what we believe we are and what we can be we are, with all of our shortages and excesses of self-resources. Self-acceptance is the key to happiness, and it is the fuel that feeds our heart and mind to move on to the future with a handful of fortune in our travel case that are ready to be harvested whenever we need it.

No regrets about the past. Positive energies for the present. And optimistic journeys to the future.

Fortunate Passage

I believe that everyone, definitely everyone wants to go through a passage full of fortune in this life. Everyone wants to be happy. Everyone wants to have everything they want to be filled, achieved, possessed and to have them for a lifetime and never even let them slip away from their hands, from their eyes, from their hearts, from their minds, or from their life. That is very human, simply like who we truly are.

Unfortunately, not everyone seems to be happy. Not everyone achieves or has the things they really want in life. Even if they think they feel happy, they sometime, somehow, still want to be happier. Here, everyone is trapped in the pursuit of happiness. Everyone, no matter who or what: children, youth, adults, men and women, white or colored, rich or poor; everyone else.

Some people feel and think that they were so fortunate in the past and they feel that their good luck charm is not shining anymore today. They have been living with the shadow overhead, just like me, like some other people I’ve known and I will meet. We undoubtedly feel so bad about what we are living today, what we have is not as wonderful as what we had in the past. Everything seems to go totally wrong, out of order, out of our expectation, wishes or dreams. Why do they happen to us anyway; that could be the innocent question that everyone of us would ask. And this, this condition seems to never end; never in my sight.

Everything, all of a sudden, looks to collapse, shatter, ruin, fall apart into pieces that we never imagined it could; everything that we have kept for years, dear in our hands, in our hearts, in our minds and in our souls. It becomes the thing far beyond our thoughts could reach. It has gone with the time, which we never ever could turn back. This loss has taken our spirit away from our castle, say our corpse. We are at death’s door. Crawling with hopes to stay alive, for some, but for some others who can’t bear, they crawl closer and closer each day to that door.

Chased by the splendid shadows of the past, feeling the dreadful days following life that doesn’t seem to stop today; all would create accumulation of fear and tear, uncertainty and objectivity, and all of that will drag us away to remember what the future could probably bring for us: the missing spirit. Perhaps, that is what life is trying to teach us, to make us, to shape us into individuals we could better be.

All of this cycle in my life I call the trinity of life journey: to walk, to slow and to end. These are the things that I always keep in mind, as a life traveler. During our walk that we have started since the day we were all born, we could always take a pause anytime, anywhere we want, but we will definitely never know when and where we will stop to travel. Though we could, for ever and a day, decide our stop, just like any other people that did and might do, that would be not the most advisable way for all life travelers to take. The thing is, why would we decide the stop if it has been decided and written and kept somewhere that we all never know.

So, what could we do when at a point of time in our life journey, we arrive to the place and time we have to take a break and, probably, enjoy the time that we have to the fullest, take everything as big and priceless lesson to continue the travel. As we are living today, we should trace back the passage to the past to get the essence of the journeys that we have so far completed and bring them all to our today’s life to get the fortune of the future, for the journey remains for us to travel through, to accomplish our mission, here in life.
